Welcome to St. Peter Catholic School !
We are an accreditated Pre-k through 8th grade elementary school located in historic Monument. In the Fall of 2012, we will be adding 7th grade, and in the Fall of 2013, we will be adding 8th grade.
All of our teachers are Colorado Certified and over half of them have Master's Degrees. While teaching the Catholic faith, we follow the Core Knowledge curriculum, which was written by E. D. Hirsch, with the idea that students should be taught what they need to become culturally literate in the world (see CoreKnowledge.com).
Students are taught a spiraling curriculum using publishers such as Saxon (math), Prentice Hall (language), Riggs (spelling phonics and handwriting), Rocket Math (computation), and Scholastic (writing).
When taking the national ITBS test, our students typically score one grade level above their current grade.
In addition, to strong academics, we teach character values, religion and community service. Students attend weekly Mass, participate in the sacraments and perform a monthly community service activity.
