Mission Statement
St. Peter Catholic School, in cooperation with family and community, is committed to provide a positive learning atmosphere conducive to academic achievement and individual growth within a Christ-centered environment. As a result, each student will be prepared to take an active role in their community of faith and to live as life-long learners.
Kindergarten - Fifth Grade Philosophy and Goals
The communication of the Gospel message by word and witness is central in Catholic Education. This philosophy leads our school to motivate students to grow academically, culturally and socially in an atmosphere designed to celebrate and practice the love of God and neighbor. We provide a Christian environment with regularly scheduled Chapel Time and School Mass. Our second graders also have the privilege of attending St. Peter’s during a sacramental year and receiving their First Reconciliation and Eucharist. The kindergarten and first through fifth grade programs follow the course of academic standards recommended by the Colorado Department of Education and approved by the Diocese of Colorado Springs. The school uses the basic elements of Core Knowledge for enrichment. Areas of focus include personal and social development, mathematical thinking, social studies, physical education and health, language and literacy, scientific thinking, art, Spanish and computer technology.
