H1N1 Update
In an effort to stay proactive in managing the H1N1and Type A flu virus in our community, we are providing an update of recommendations that all school districts received from the El Paso County Health Dept at a meeting they held on September 9^th. Please note the recommendations include Action Steps for: the general public, schools and parents. The Health Department wants all families to know that Type A Influenza as well as the H1N1 virus are present in our county and can be spread easily. They reminded families to take normal precautions such as hand washing, wiping down common surfaces, keeping a sick child at home, and see a physician if appropriate. Parents with a child with health problems or other increased risk from flu should consult their physicians for guidance. If a child has a fever over 100°, please keep them home for at least 24 hours after the fever has broken without the aid of medication.
