Philosophy and Goals
St. Peter Catholic School provides a safe and secure environment where children can discover their world around them. Our program provides a “hands-on” environment that allows children to explore and discover the world God made.
Teachers are dedicated to serving young children and creating an atmosphere in which individual curiosity, personal expression and cultural distinctions are valued.
Children will choose from a variety of activities in the classroom, which will enhance their social, physical, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual development. We believe that every child is unique and our program is developed to meet the needs of each child.
Play is an essential part of our curriculum. We will provide opportunities for meaningful play based on the children’s individual needs, interests, handicaps and abilities. Our daily activities include circle and story time, outside play, small group time, center activity time, quiet activities, snack time, music, creative movement and dramatic play.
Children are encouraged to make their own choices, fostering independence and self-confidence. Teachers guide and facilitate activities, are always nearby to lend support when needed and to answer questions or offer new challenges.
