Divine Redeemer Required Uniform Dress For 2010-2011

Most of our uniform items should be purchased at Dennis Uniforms. The only items that can be bought at other places are: white oxford shirts, shoes (uniform and PE), socks, tights, and belts and gym shorts (middle school only).

Red DR polo shirts, turtlenecks, and sweatshirts must contain the logo of the school

Most of our uniform items should be purchased at Dennis Uniforms. The only items that can be bought at other places are: white oxford shirts, shoes (uniform and PE), socks, tights, and belts and gym shorts (middle school only).

Grades K-5:

Girls:

·          Tartan jumper, navy blue pants, shorts, (with brown or black belt) or skort

·          Red polo or turtle neck (with logo)

·          White, red or blue socks; white, red, or blue tights can be substituted for socks

·          Brown leather shoes (grades 2-5 only, see below)

·          DR sweatshirts, and ¾ zip sweat may also be worn

·          White tennis shoes for PE*

Mass Uniform (worn on Thursday Mass days and other days as required):

·          Tartan jumper or plaid skort

·          White peter pan shirt or ¾ sleeve white shirt (only with the skort)

·          Solid red cross-tie

·          Regular uniform shoes and socks/tights (see above).

 

Boys:

·          Navy blue DR pants or shorts with brown or black belt

·          Red DR polo shirt (with logo); red DR turtle neck with logo may also be worn

·          Red, white or blue socks

·          Brown leather uniform shoes (grades 2-5 only, see below)

·          DR sweatshirts, and ¾ zip sweat may also be worn

·          White tennis shoes for PE*.

Mass Uniform (worn on Thursday Mass days and other days as required):

·          Regular uniform pants

·          White button-down Oxford shirt

·          Red striped necktie

·          Shoes, and socks (see above).

 

 

Grades 6-8:

Girls:

·          Khaki pants, shorts (with brown or black belt) or skort

·          Red DR polo shirt or turtleneck (with logo)

·          White, red or blue socks or tights

·          Brown leather shoes (see below)

·          DR sweatshirts, and ¾ zip sweat may also be worn

·          PE uniform (see below).

 

Mass Uniform (worn on Thursday Mass days and other days as required):

·          Plaid skort

·          White button-down Oxford or ¾ sleeve white shirt

·          Solid red cross-tie

·          Regular uniform shoes and socks/tights (see above).

Boys:

·          Red DR polo shirt (with logo); red DR turtle neck with logo may also be worn

·          Khaki DR pants or shorts; (with brown or black belt)

·          White, red, or blue socks

·          Brown leather shoes (see below)

·          DR sweatshirts and ¾ zip sweat may also be worn.

·          PE uniform (see below).

Mass Uniform (worn on Thursday Mass days and other days as required:

·          Regular khaki uniform pants

·          White button-down Oxford shirt

·          Red striped necktie

·          Brown or black belt

·          Shoes, and socks (see above).

* = Students are required to have tennis shoes for PE classes. These shoes will be kept in a designated space in the child’s classroom. PE shoes should be predominantly white in color, although stripes and logos of other colors are permitted. Shoes should not have blinking lights. Shoes must have non-marking soles.

Uniform Shoes (Grades 2-8 only)

All students in grades 2-8 are required to wear uniform shoes to school every day. Uniform shoes can be purchased at any department or retail store. While the precise brand of shoe does not matter, all uniform shoes must conform to these regulations:

·          Shoes must be made of a medium-color brown leather.

·          Shoes may not have an open-toe or open-heel.

·          Shoes may not be sandals, boots, or high-heels.

·          Shoes must be comfortable and safe for school use.

·          Shoe laces may only be brown, black, gray, or white. Stripes on shoes may only be brown, gray, or black. Small logos are permissible in shades of brown, gray, or black.

·          Laces and shoes may not contain other colors or decorative attachments.

PE Uniforms (Grades 6-8 only)

 

PE uniforms are required of all middle school students. The uniform is a red DR gym shirt with blue or black athletic shorts. PE shoes should be sneakers in which white is the predominant color (although stripes and logos of other colors are allowed). White socks should be worn. PE uniforms should be washed regularly.

Additional Regulations 

GIRLS:

Girls may not wear the following:

Perfume

More than two pairs of earrings (earrings must be studs  or small hoops only)

More than one ring per hand

Girls in PreK-5th grade may not wear makeup. Excessive use of make-up or make-up with glitter in grades 6-8 is not allowed.

Any other form of jewelry or body piercing

Tattoos (including temporary tattoos)

Black colored nail polish.

Unnatural or non-prescription contact lenses

Any form of headgear (including hats, athletic headbands, etc.); however barrettes and hair-ties may be worn.

Girl’s hair must meet the following regulations:

Hair must be well groomed and cleaned regularly

Hair may not be shaved with any symbols or writing

Dyed hair coloring is not permitted (including highlights), as well as inappropriate hairstyles

BOYS:

Boys may not wear the following:

Any form of visible jewelry (including earrings, finger rings, or body piercing) excepting an appropriate wristwatch, a single necklace and a single bracelet (this does not include fabric wristbands).

Any form of make-up or nail polish

Unnatural looking or non-prescription contact lenses

Any form of headgear (hats, headbands, etc.)

Any form of facial hair (boys must be clean-shaven)

Tattoos (including temporary tattoos)

Cologne

 Boy’s hair must meet the following regulations:

Hair must be well groomed and cleaned regularly

Hair length must not extend past the collar (in the back) or below the top of the eye (in the front)

Hair may not be shaved with symbols or writing

No dyed hair is permitted

Inappropriate hairstyles are not permitted, as defined by the administration. Inappropriate hairstyles include: tails, tucks, braids, highlights, mohawks, spiked hair, etc.


The faculty and administration has the ultimate call on what attire is appropriate and in compliance with our uniform requirements.

VIOLATIONS AGAINST THE ABOVE POLICIES WILL BE DEALT WITH INDIVIDUALLY BY THE FACULTY AND ADMINISTRATION.
