The Art curriculum is available in detail by grade level under the Curriculum By Grade Level tab.  Middle School students have the opportunity to choose electives.  The elective offerings for the 2011-2012 school year include the following: 2-Dimensional Art and 3-Dimensional Art.

The
Music curriculum is available in detail by grade level under the Curriculum By Grade Level tab.  Middle School students have the opportunity to choose electives.  The elective offerings for the 2011-2012 school year include the following: Jazz Ensemble, Young Women's Choir, Music Theory and Appreciation, and Drama.

Physical Education 
Preschool through eighth grade students are required to attend physical education classes.  Every February students support and participate in the American Heart Association's Jump Rope for Heart.  Middle School students have the opportunity to choose electives.  The elective offerings for the 2011-2012 school year include the following:  Football, Soccer, and Basketball.

Technology
Kindergarten through eighth grade students are required to attend technology classes.  Technology is incorporated into the curriculum within the classroom and utilized in the computer lab.  There is a strong emphasis in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with all grade levels.  Ave Maria Catholic School uses Typing Pal School, a web-based program for keyboarding instruction.  Students are provided with unique usernames and passwords so they can practice directly from home via the Internet, in addition to classroom.  Click here to login to Typing Pal Online.





Middle School students have the opportunity to choose electives.  The elective offerings for the 2011-2012 school year include the following:  Microsoft Office, Yearbook, Publishing, and Keyboarding. 




Foreign Language
Students in preschool through eighth grade use Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish as a Foreign Language.  Additionally, Ave Maria Catholic School employs a Spanish teacher to instruct students in conjunction with the Rosetta Stone software.
