Volunteering

Ave Maria Catholic Church and the Diocese of Colorado Springs are committed to providing a safe environment for all.  Volunteers must be Registered Parishioners or an Ave Maria Catholic School Family, complete a Volunteer Application, and sign a Sexual Misconduct Policy acknowledgment.

In addition, volunteers working with children, youth, or vulnerable populations must submit to a Criminal Background Investigation (FCRA form) and attend Safe Environment Training.

New volunteers must attend the 2 hour: Basic Safety Environment Training
Returning volunteers must attend the annual:Refresher Safety Environment Training

Parish Leadership:
Council Positions require an interview process with the Pastor and prayerful discernment. Applicants must be active members of the parish and “in good standing” with the Catholic Church.

Hispanic Ministry Committee addresses all aspects of the ministries, operational and liturgical needs that are needed to integrate Spanish-speaking parishioners' pastoral and spiritual needs, including Faith Formation, Evangelization, Sacramental Preparation and Social Justice.

Liturgy Committee works with the Parish Priest to aid and lead the parish to grow in faith and love through deeper prayer and worship.

Parish Council is a consultative body that the Pastor can prayerfully reflect with and ask for assistance to guide the overall care and Ministry of the parish and the enhancement of its mission. With the Pastor, the Council sets the mission and direction of the parish.

Parish Finance Council is a consultative body providing advice and recommendation to the Pastor concerning the Stewardship of the parish’s fiscal and temporal resources, including long range financial planning.

School Finance Council is a consultative body providing advice and recommendation to the Pastor, the Parish Finance Council and the School Principal concerning the financial management and planning for our parish school.

Stewardship Committee works with the Coordinator of Volunteers to promote Stewardship as a Way of Life within all aspects of the parish community.
